FTC - High Fidelity Loudspeaker Cable
The Gato Audio FTC loudspeaker cable has been conceived and executed to act as a wide open, unrestricted conduit between amplifier and speaker. To achieve this lofty objective, the cable has been designed and built with meticulous care and attention to ensure absolutely minimal resistance, capacitance and microphony.
FTC cables are constructed from twin conductors, each consisting of 19 silver-clad copper strands, providing an ideal electron highway of 10AWG and extensive conductor surface area to convey high frequencies under optimal conditions. Each conductor is tightly wound and secured with a rigid, tight-fitting layer of Teflon for electrical insulation and to eliminate any microphonic interference. The two conductors are sheathed in a protective sleeve that also adds damping mass to the overall construction. The result is a speaker cable of extraordinary build quality with extreme high current capacity, ultra-low noise and no sonic footprint of its own.
Because it is absolutely essential that the speaker cable exert zero impact on critical electrical parameters (resistance, capacitance and inductance) of both amplifier and speaker, the FTC has been developed and constructed with the optimisation of these crucial factors foremost in mind.
And before speculation runs rampant, it should be noted that the medallion on the cable stamped with our logo does not control signal direction, arcane phase corrections, mystical impedance changes or time travel, remote coffee-making or any other voodoo tricks. It serves one very straightforward purpose and it does its job well: It splits the two conductors for easier connection at both ends and it carries our badge of quality; nothing more, nothing less.
FTC loudspeaker cables are available in three standard lengths: 2x2, 2x3 and 2x4 meters, fitted with gold-plated, low-mass hollow banana plugs.
